For this project we were assigned to do a book series. I decided to do the Area X trilogy by Jeff Vandermeer. It is a science fiction book that has a lot of surreal elements in the books. I decided to go for a very surreal aesthetic to the book covers to capture the essence of the books. I went for of an illustrative route with more of a detailed look as well. The wavey lines was inspired by the elements in the book.
